中美文化研究中心是由南京大学与美国约翰斯·霍普金斯大学共同创办的教学和研究机构,旨在培养中美事务的专门人才和有关领域的教学、科研人员,它以中美两国的政治、社会、文化、外交、历史、法律及国际问题作为教学和研究的主要内容。“中心”每年招收具有硕士或相当于硕士水平的中美学生各五十名,并聘请十余名中美教授来中心任教。“中心”除聘请固定的中美教授从事教学和研究外,还邀请国内外资深学者来作客座讲演,以及组织多种国际学术讨论会。“中心”图书馆由1985年初开始筹建,
The Sino-American Center for Cultural Studies is a teaching and research institute co-founded by Nanjing University and Johns Hopkins University in the United States. It aims to cultivate specialists in Sino-U.S. Affairs and teaching and research personnel in related fields. The political, social, cultural, diplomatic, historical, legal and international issues of the country are the main contents of teaching and research. Each year, the center recruits 50 students from each of China and the United States who have a master’s degree or the equivalent of a master’s degree and employs more than 10 professors from China and the United States to teach at the center. In addition to inviting regular professors from both China and the United States to engage in teaching and research, the Center also invited senior scholars from home and abroad to make guest lectures and organize a variety of international symposiums.
