August 15, 1945, the Japanese Emperor released the final war edict, ordering the Japanese troops to lay down their arms and stop the resistance. So far the Second World War ended. However, in the Dongning area at the junction of northeast China and the Soviet Union, the Japanese troops within the Kantou Fortress at Japan’s Kwantung Army refused to surrender and the fighting was still going on vigorously. Until August 29, almost all Japanese soldiers were killed, the battle ended. The tiger fortress is the line of defense known as the “Oriental Marchena” constructed by the lives of countless Chinese laborers from the Kanto Army in Japan. In the fort, the 410mm howitzer with the largest diameter of the Japanese Army and the 240mm with the longest range were installed. Today, these two huge artillery have been hard to find, leaving only the broken fortifications, people reviled. So what exactly are the two of the most powerful artillery pieces in Japan, when did they start to be developed and when they were installed here?
