奶味西瓜是我国西瓜育种专家、高级农艺师郑祖兴先生于1987年培育成功的杂交新组合特味西瓜品种,又名荆杂512。该品种个大、皮薄、抗病、高产、糖度高、耐贮运。由于在制种过程中应用了特殊生物基因工程,使其具有独特的牛奶香味,商品价值较高。该西瓜里椭圆形,外皮底色浅绿并有蜡粉和深绿色齿状条纹14～16条,外形酷似金钟冠龙品种。单瓜平均重6～8公斤,最大可达15公斤以上,属大果型品
