本文通过定性、定量两种方法,抽取了Edith Wharton的《The Age of Innocence》和张爱玲的《半生缘》为研究对象,对中美两位女作家经典之作中的女主人翁Ellen和曼桢的言语做个案研究。对小说中女主人公的话语中词汇和句法语义模糊性进行对比分析,比较了汉英两种语言中女性语言语义模糊现象的异同。
In this thesis, qualitative and quantitative methods are adopted to extract the “Age of Innocence” by Edith Wharton and “Half-Life” by Zhang Ailing. The author analyzes Ellen and Manzheng’s heroines in two classic Chinese and American women writers. Words do case studies. A comparative analysis of the vagueness of the words and syntactic semantics in the heroine’s discourse is made, and the similarities and differences between the semantic vagueness of the female language in Chinese and English are compared.
