The Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is located in the north-south seismic belt of China and is an earthquake-prone region. According to the observations of the past two years, the area is currently in an active period of earthquakes. The district’s farm houses are dominated by raw soil construction, and 800,000 people live in various types of raw soil caves in the southern mountains. In order to improve the seismic performance of newly-built houses and improve the living environment, Ningxia Construction Department Town and Village Department summarized the experience of earthquake-resistant reconstruction of rural houses in the past two years.
