多年来,粤剧曲艺界一直在传统的基础上改革创新,加大宣传力度,培养年轻观众等方面不断地努力。但是,只要你是年轻的粤剧粉丝,又或者是粤剧曲艺工作者,许多人就会向你投以稀奇的眼光,觉得你是稀有动物,不可理解。在南方卫视《粤唱越好戏》和广州电台《岭南私伙局》主持人周丽珊看来,这个是走进来,走出去的问题。她说:“你如果不走进这个圈子,你就不会看到圈子里原来有那么多人,那么绚丽多姿、丰富多彩;但如果你不从这个圈子里走出去,你就不会发现原来圈外的人更多,需要做的还很多。”
