英国的一项调查显示,英国儿童在高新技术方面表现抢眼,在2~5岁儿童中,23%的孩子会用手机拨打电话,并能毫不费力地在网上冲浪;20%的孩子会熟练操作智能手机甚至iPad平板电脑,而像开启电脑或点点鼠标这样的小儿科,更是不在话下,有73%的孩子称自己能很好地使用鼠标。可回到最基本的生活技能上,这些孩子的表现就是另一幅景象了:只有48%的孩子知道自己的家庭住址,能写下自己名字的孩子不到1/3。连系鞋带这样最基本的事情,对于这些孩子来说都成了高难度挑战,能够完成的孩子只占11%。
