我国长期实行应试教育,但它所暴露出的弊端也日渐明显,使学者们逐渐认识到素质教育的重要性,素质教育已然成为教育改革的大趋势。大学教育中对素质教育的呼声最高,但在大学英语的教学中仍然存在着应试教育的影子,本文将从理解素质教育入手,分析素质教育与大学英语教育之间的关系,同时简要分析目前大学教育中存在的问题,从而探讨大学英语教学在素质教育中的作用以及如何使大学英语教育在素质教育中更好地发挥作用。
