2005年至2009年中华人民共和国文化部、财政部联合实施的“国家重大历史题材美术创作工程”(简称“创作工程”)现已竣工。五年来,我作为“创作工程”艺术委员会的委员之一,参与了工程实施的全过程,竣工后既感到轻松和欣慰,又开始冷静地评估与思考。从“创作工程作品展”在北京、上海、杭州、深圳巡回展出的效果来看,广大观众的反响是热烈的,媒体的报道是积极的,但我也听到不少批评和质疑的声音。如何评估“创作工程”的价值?国家斥巨资赞助重大历史题材美术创作是否值得?今天的创作比20世纪 From 2005 to 2009, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China jointly implemented the “Project of Creating Major National Historic Themes” (“Project Creation”). In the past five years, as one of the members of the art committee of “Creation Engineering”, I participated in the whole process of project implementation. Upon completion, I felt relaxed and relieved, and started to evaluate and think calmly. Judging from the performance exhibited by the exhibition “Works of Creation” in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen, the response of the audience is enthusiastic. The media coverage is positive, but I have also heard many criticisms and doubts the sound of. How to evaluate the value of “creative works”?
