Betty: Oh he’ll do fine. I think he’s already starting to feel at home.

Betty: Actually, I wanna talk to you about that. Doug mentioned that you told him I would be giving his orientation today?

Audrey: I don’t understand what the big deal is. I only told him that you were going to be helping him out. It’s not like I spilled procedural secrets or anything.
Betty: You still commented on procedures, though. And once you’ve started, it’s easy to keep going. ④This kind of thing has a slippery slope.
Audrey: Okay, well I guess I see where you’re coming from on that one. My apologies, I didn’t realize it would cause a stink.
Betty: ⑤Don’t worry about it—no harm no foul. And thank you for being so understanding. If only I could get Mark to do the same.
Audrey: Is he still doing that speakerphone thing?
Betty: Yes! And I hate it. Every five minutes he’s on the speakerphone with the volume turned up so loud I can barely think. The only problem is that he’s not doing anything against company policy.
Audrey: But he’s still being rude and 2)disruptive. Why don’t you have a sit down chat with him about it?
Betty: That’s not a bad idea…if he can hear me over the speakerphone that is!
