This article analyzes the expression of tumor suppressor genes p53 and p16 in the process of carcinogenesis of gastric mucosa and discusses its significance. 1 Materials and Methods 1.1 Materials All 150 specimens were collected from the gastric mucosa biopsy and some surgically resected cancer tissues from 1994/1997.
