本文引用史料否定了现行公共关系学教材中关于现代公共关系诞生标志的两个根据，即艾维·李创办了世界第一家“宣传顾问事务所”和艾维·李是第一位提供公共关系职业服务人。提出了艾维·李发表的《共同原则宣言》标志现代公共关系诞生的新观点，并对“宣言”在公关史上的成就以及他在公共关系实践中的实绩作了较全面的评介，进一步肯定了艾维·李在现代公共关系史上的地位。
This article quotes the historical data that negate the two foundations of the current public relations textbook on the birth of modern public relations: that is, Avi Lee founded the world’s first “public relations consultant firm” and Avi Lee was the first to provide public Relationship between professional service people. Put forward the new viewpoint that the “Declaration of Common Principles” published by Ivey Lee symbolized the birth of modern public relations, and made a more comprehensive assessment of the achievements of the “Declaration” in the history of public relations and his achievements in public relations practice, further affirming Ivi Li in the history of modern public relations status.
