Objective To investigate the conservation of desert kalaheria in Tarim Basin. Methods Investigate animals and vectors and their environment. Animal samples were collected in winter and antibody-positive animals were screened by ELISA. Leishmania sinesis was inoculated with a prairie rabbit and cultured in a liquid medium, and Leishmania spp. Was isolated by molecular biology methods from Leishmania patients, animals and vectors in the country gene sequence. Results There were 3 anti-Leishmania antibodies against Leishmania japonica in Tarim rabbit and domestic dogs, 3 Leishmania isolates from 44 antibody-positive Tarim rabbits, and the Leishmania isolates from Tarim rabbit, The NAGT nuclear gene sequences were identical and consistent with GenBank registered Leishmania infantum AF205934. Conclusion The Tarim rabbit is one of the wild hosts of desert-type kala-azar in the Tarim Basin.
