过去有不少单位或个人,曾试探在北京种植厚皮甜瓜,都未获得成功。近几年我所甜瓜课题组,与日本赤田先生合作,对厚皮甜瓜品种与栽培进行综合性研究,获得了可喜的成果。1986年国际流行型伊丽莎白等厚皮甜瓜,在本市试种,栽培成功,并推广于生产。得到各级领导的赞赏和广大群众的欢迎。试种栽培成功,意味着将大面积推广,伊丽莎白等甜瓜良种前几年靠进口,每亩地用种约需外汇105美元,大面积种植将是一笔可观的数字。为此我们自力更生突破高难
In the past, many units or individuals have tried to grow melons in Beijing and have not succeeded. In recent years, our group of melons, with Japan’s Chitoda cooperation, the muskmelon varieties and cultivation of a comprehensive study, received gratifying results. 1986, the international fashion Elizabeth and other thick-skinned melon, try planting in the city, cultivation success, and promotion in production. It has been praised by leaders at all levels and welcomed by the masses. The success of the trial cultivation means that a large area will be popularized. Elisabeth and other melon varieties will rely on imports a few years ago and will need about 105 USD per acre to plant the large-scale cultivation. To this end, we have overcome difficulties with our own efforts
