液体的粘滞性一切液体,由于分子作用力的影响,都有内摩擦,即对抗液体流动之内在阻力,使液体在流动时发生层流(Laminar flow)与切向变形(shearing),贴附管壁的液层流速最慢,中轴流速最快是为粘液性。液体只有在克服了内摩擦力后才能流动,克服内摩擦力的力称为切变应力,它与内摩擦力大小相等而方向相反。简单液体中,粒子之体积,大小一致,分布均匀,它流动时之切变应力F(达因/平方厘米)按下式求得:
