王心敬是明末清初“关中大儒”李二曲门下高弟,是一位在儒家经学、哲学诸领域都颇有造诣的学者。在明末清初理学向清学转变这一思想背景下,作为关学后续,王心敬既保留了关学自张载以来崇礼尚实的学风特点,又体现了明代关学心学化的趋势,还继承了其师李二曲“明体适用”、“经时务世”之学的思想风貌,对关中地区儒学的发展产生了巨大的推动作用。
