Objective To investigate the health status of fluoride exposed workers and the health damage of workers exposed to inorganic fluoride. Methods A total of 514 large-scale bankrupt enterprises exposed inorganic fluoride workers (observation group) and 423 non-fluoride workers in the enterprise (control group) occupational health examination results were pooled analysis. Results The observation group was diagnosed as industrial fluorosis Ⅰ in 9 cases (1.75%). There were 193 cases (37.55%) of electrocardiogram abnormality in observation group and 117 cases (27.66%) of abnormal electrocardiogram in control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.01) The incidence of various premature contractions compared with the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.01 or P <0.001). Conclusion Long-term exposure to inorganic fluoride can cause chronic fluorosis. Changes in ECG indicate that fluoride may have some impact on human cardiovascular system.
