《英语新课程标准》(实验稿)大力倡导“自主性学习方式”和终身学习的理念,极其重视学习习惯的养成和实践能力的培养,反复提到丰富多彩的课外学习活动对学生英语学习的促进作用。课外作业应该具有很强的实践性,是课外活动的一种有效途径。英语课外作业作为课堂教学的有效补充,应具有一定的弹性,应力求促进学生全方位地发展。课外作业内容源于教材但不应拘泥于教材,应鼓励学生在实际生活中运用课堂所学知识,促进语言实际运用能力的提高。
