《雨王亨德森》被评论界认为是贝娄最不具有犹太性的一部作品,然而我们却可以从中发现很多犹太文化要素。在作品中,贝娄虽然淡化了主人公的犹太身份,却在主人公的流浪意识、理性意识、生存意识中体现了犹太民族特性。本文从文化学角度对《雨王亨德森》中犹太性进行解读,以此加深对于文本的理解,并说明贝娄潜意识中深受犹太文化的影响。
“Rain King Henderson” was considered by critics as the most non-Jewish Bellow works, but we can find a lot of Jewish cultural elements. In his works, although Bellow played down the Jewish identity of the protagonist, it reflected Jewish national identity in the stray consciousness, rational consciousness and survival consciousness of the protagonist. This article interprets the Jewishness of “Yu Wang Henderson” from the perspective of culture, in order to deepen the understanding of the text and illustrates that Bellow’s subconsciousness is deeply influenced by the Jewish culture.
