这个装置采用了“流水作业式”逻辑结构;并且,当识别不同符号时,它不需改变接线和变动结构;标准符号是用按键放入存贮板矩阵中;清除字模则只要切断电源电压即可。由于这个装置具有上述的优点,并且它所用的器材也是一般的器材,所以它不仅适用于商业及其他数据处理系统中,而且也可供数字机的文字输入设备的设计参考。该装置是做成夹层式的,共有三块板(如图1):
