在山西晋剧的群芳谱中,有一枝傲寒竞放的红梅——她就是大同市晋剧团的著名旦角演员杜玉梅。杜玉梅今年45岁,正工小旦、闺门旦,兼演青衣。多年来,她以自己的辛勤劳动,为观众塑造了许多光彩夺目的艺术形象。她那清脆甜美、韵味醇浓的唱腔,情真意切、细腻传神的表演,赢得了广大观众的喜爱和赞赏,在山西、内蒙和河北北部一带颇有影响,广为人知。杜玉梅出生在山西省怀仁县一个农民家庭,自幼天资聪慧,敏而好学,喜欢唱歌。9岁那年,考进大同市晋剧二团当学员。当时,剧团条件简陋,养不起闲人,刚进剧团的9岁娃娃,也不得不参加演出。于是,团里就让她演《二进宫》中的大老公。人小衣长,改装登场,而且还要唱4句“乱弹”,出乎人们的意料,4句“乱弹”竟得了个满堂彩。不久,团里的旦角演员王素梅收她为徒。师傅领进门,学艺在个人。倔强好胜、人小志大的杜玉梅暗暗下了决心,一定要当一个好学生,做一个好演员。
