缆索起重机是一种特殊结构的起重机。它与普通桥式起重机的根本区别是:起重小车不在刚性轨道上运行,而在挠性承载构件(钢丝绳)上移动。由于它用强度高的钢丝绳代替了钢性桥架,因而,在大跨度的条件下大大地减轻了起重机的自重而获得了发展。尤其跨度大于数百米甚至千米时,更显示出缆索起重机较之其它刚性连接型式的起重机要优越。
Cable crane is a special structure of the crane. Its fundamental difference with ordinary overhead cranes is that the trolley does not move on a rigid track but moves on a flexible load bearing member (wire rope). Because of its use of high-strength steel wire rope instead of steel bridge, thus, under the conditions of large-span crane greatly reduced the weight of self-made gain. In particular, when the span is more than several hundred meters or even kilometers, it is even more advantageous that the cable crane is superior to other types of rigid connections.
