From August 6 to August 7, 2002, the international complex science symposium jointly sponsored by Peking University, China University of Mining and Shanghai Jiaotong University, was sponsored by the Department of Management Science of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. A total of nearly 100 people attended the conference. Nine internationally renowned scholars, including Vice Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, Professor Cheng Siwei, Director of the Management Science Department, Professor Plott, a famous experimental economist at the California Institute of Technology, and Professor Goldstein from the Department of Physics of the University of Arizona, made the academic report respectively. Involved in the social, economic and organizational system complexity, biophysical complexity, cognitive and behavioral complexity, metallogenic complexity, have caused a greater response. Complexity science is a science that studies complexity and complex systems.
