As mentioned earlier, one of the main definitions of comedy is the story of a successful ending, implying a narrative form. In this chapter, we explore the issues of the happy ending, including their manifestation in comedies and the common narrative structure. In addition, we’ll also discuss the rules of narrative motivation in comedies, especially the rare forms of causality and logic used in comedies. This discussion will deal with the mechanisms of comedy suspense and comedy surprises - as both relate to the account of the narratives involved, to the distribution of the relative positions of knowledges and ignorance, illustrating that the consideration of the narrative must include an account of the exposition pattern and Expression mode of consideration.
