叙事与比喻图饰瓷砖这三块瓷砖上的图案皆取自莎士比亚戏剧中的场景和角色。莎翁笔下的众多经典情节和人物常常为艺术家提供灵感,如图1描述的是《第十二夜《Twelfth Night)》中的管家马夫里奥(Malvolio),该作品虽然看上去像是使用了手绘技法,但实际上运用的是印花技术,《仲夏夜之梦(AMidsummer Night’s Dream)》是出如梦如幻的剧作,其人物和场景受到韦奇伍德公司的青睐,图2所描述的正是“仙王一奥布朗(Oberon)”令人叫绝的是所绘制人物,其角色性格与心情都被准确把握;图3的主题取自《安东尼与克莉奥佩特拉(Antony and Cleopatra)》,该作品由维多利亚时期的陶艺师约翰·史密斯(John Moyr Smith)设计,明顿陶瓷作坊《Minton’s China Works)于19世纪70年代早期出品。该系列瓷砖共有24款不同的图案主题。
Narrative and figurative figurine tiles The patterns on these three tiles come from scenes and characters from Shakespearean plays. Many classic episodes and characters by Shakespeare often inspire artists as Malvolio, the housekeeper of Twelfth Night in Figure 1, which appears to be used Hand-painted techniques, but in fact the use of printing technology, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream (AMidsummer Night’s Dream)” is a dream play, his characters and scenes favored by Wedgwood, depicted in Figure 2 It is “Oberon,” the most amazing character of the character drawn and the mood of the character drawn by him; the subject of Figure 3 is taken from Antony and Antony and Cleopatra, "designed by Victorian ceramist John Moyr Smith and Minton’s China Works in the early 1870s. There are totally 24 different motifs in this series of tiles.
