一个社会中,语言应该属于文化的一方面内容,语言与文化应该是部分与整体的关系。学习了解其他国家的文化,就不得不先学习和掌握它的语言,它是学习文化的工具。另一方面来说,学习一个国家的语言,离不开它的文化背景,文化知识。它们是紧密地交织在一起的。但是在实际教授英语、学习英语的时候,往往忽视了文化知识的导入,使得学生不能更深入地了解语言背后的意义以及不能恰当地使用语言进行交流。因此,在大学英语教学中文化背景知识的介绍尤显重要,而怎样更好地导入西方国家的文化常识是大多数英语教学工作者需要研究和重视的课题。
In a society, language should belong to one aspect of culture. Language and culture should be part and whole. To learn about the culture of other countries, you must first learn and master its language. It is a tool for learning culture. On the other hand, learning a country’s language cannot be separated from its cultural background and cultural knowledge. They are closely intertwined. However, in the actual teaching of English and learning English, the introduction of cultural knowledge is often overlooked, making it impossible for students to gain a deeper understanding of the meaning behind language and to use language to communicate properly. Therefore, the introduction of cultural background knowledge in college English teaching is particularly important, and how to better introduce cultural common sense in Western countries is the subject that most English teachers need to study and pay attention to.
