In the modern society where Eastern and Western cultures are blended, what is the solution to the nationalization of oil painting and the modernization of Chinese painting? This seemingly outdated issue is still troubling the Chinese fine arts community. Over the past century, countless painters have consciously or unconsciously explored and tried. Yuan Xikun is one of those painters who is keenly aware and always sober-minded.
