One night， Monica looked out of her window and saw the big bright moon. She wished to play with the moon.
So Monica said to her father， “Papa， please get the moon for me.”
Papa got a very long ladder（梯子）. He put the ladder on top of the very high mountain and climbed up.
Papa said to the moon， “My daughter Monica would like to play with you， but you’re too big.” The moon said， “Every night I get a little smaller. When I am just the right size（合适的大小）， you can take me with you.”
The moon really got very small. Papa took it down and gave it to Monica.
Monica jumped and danced with the moon. But the moon became smaller and smaller（越来越小）. Finally the moon disappeared.
