在唐代,我国和亚洲许多国家在政治上、经济上和文化上都有过密切的联系,因而,中外文化交流发展到了一个高峰。在这方面,我国当时的许多高僧是发挥了一定的作用的,其中尤以玄奘和鉴真为最著名。玄奘和鉴真生活的时代相距不到一百年。他们都有非常渊博的学识。玄奘翻山越岭,经过无数险阻,西至印度;鉴真远涉重洋,备尝艰辛,东渡日本。两人对中外文化交流都作出了杰出的贡献。今年是鉴真逝世一千二百周年,特草成此文,以资纪念。
In the Tang Dynasty, China and many Asian countries had close political, economic and cultural ties. As a result, the cultural exchange between China and foreign countries reached a peak. In this respect, many eminent monks of our time played a certain role, of which Xuanzang and Jianzhen were the most famous. Xuan Zang and authentic life less than a hundred years apart.
