The first session of the International Symposium on Turbulent Shear-Flow with Unstable Mechanisms and Mechanics was held in May 1981 at the French Higher Aviation School. About 70 delegates attended the meeting, from the United States, Britain, France, West Germany, Japan, Mexico and other countries. Prof. T. Cebeci, who has a great influence on the calculation of the overburden, Prof. R. L. Simpson and Prof. W. C. Reynolds who have achieved great results in turbulent experimental research, and Prof. Sutton from the University of Cambridge, UK attended the conference. From more than 40 papers read, unstable turbulence is in the field of modern fluid mechanics
