1988年哈尔滨市图书馆举办了历时10个月的“哈尔滨地区首届公共图书馆读者读书竞赛”活动。市、区八个公共图书馆的330多名读者参加了竞赛,他们当中有高级工程师、副教授、讲师,也有一般科技人员、教师、干部和工人。共有96人获奖。读书竞赛成果中,获国家重大科研成果奖的1项,获国家专利的5项,科研及设备改造取得经济效益的14项,编、译著36种,国家一级刊物发表的论文13篇,其它刊物发表的论文53篇。读书竞赛期间,市图书馆开展了“文明服务竞赛活动”,全馆依不同岗位分为12个竞赛窗口,设专人征求读者意见,请读者投票评选。对文明服务窗口授予流动红旗,从而促使每个工作人员都有一种荣誉感和紧迫感,使全馆呈现出一种崭新的精神风貌。
In 1988, Harbin Municipal Library held a “Reader’s Contest for the First Public Library in Harbin Region” for 10 months. More than 330 readers from eight public libraries in the city and district attended the competition. Among them were senior engineers, associate professors and lecturers, as well as general scientific and technical personnel, teachers, cadres and workers. A total of 96 people won the award. Among the achievements of the book contest, one was awarded a major national scientific research achievement award, five won a national patent, 14 won economic benefits from the transformation of scientific research and equipment, 36 were compiled and translated, 13 were published in national level journals, 53 papers published in other journals. During the competition, the municipal library launched the “Civilized Service Competition”. The whole museum was divided into 12 competition windows according to different positions. Specialists sought the opinions of readers and invited readers to vote for them. The red flag was given to the civilized service window, prompting each staff member to have a sense of honor and urgency so that the whole museum will present a brand new spiritual outlook.
