2003年10月23日,国务院侨办文宣司副司长雷振刚一行莅临我院调研,并指导工作。在听取学院詹心丽院长汇报学院工作情况后,雷振刚副司长说:“你们的刊物和资料编得很好,我每期都看了,为我们提供了许多情况,感谢你们的辛勤工作。”雷副司长还说,厦大海外教育学院与国侨办有着密切的关系,都是为华侨华人服务的。国侨办现有25个华教基地,国侨办会给各基地下达任务,但各校不能等待下达项目和经费。各校要依靠自身的优势,依靠与海外华侨华人密切关系的优势主动积极开展工作。厦大在这方面更具有实力。
