Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the fifth most commoncancer worldwide accounting for about 9％ of all cancerdeaths (1). The natural history of HCC is extremely variabledue to high effectiveness of treatment only in early stagesand low overall survival rate in patients with advanceddisease who are poor responders to any treatment.
