导弹,在军事上称为战略导弹,分进攻性和防御性两大类。而通常所指的战略导弹,仅是进攻性战略导弹的简称,防御性战略导弹一般是指拦截战略导弹的导弹。其实,进攻性战略导弹中的远射程导弹才真正算是战略导弹,它的射程一般超过一千公里,核弹头当量一般在十万吨级以上(即大于十万吨TNT炸药的爆炸威力);而射程在一千公里内、核弹头当量在万吨级以下的近射程导弹和采用常规弹头用于直接支援部队进行战斗的导弹,则称之为战术导弹。
