刘斯奋与“新文人画”没有干系,也不以“文人画”相标榜。但他深谙传统文化,有文人的诗思与情怀,又拥有一定的造型与笔墨技巧。而且,因为作画非其谋生职业,他能够不计较流行时尚,没有一般职业画家在艺术与商业间的两难,可以保持相对充分的独立性与创造自由。
Liu Si-fen and “new literati painting” has no connection, nor “literati painting” list. However, he is well versed in traditional culture, literati’s poetic thoughts and feelings, and possesses a certain degree of modeling and pen and ink skills. Moreover, because painting is not his job, he can ignore the fashion trends, and there is no general art painter’s dilemma between art and commerce that can maintain relative independence and create freedom.
