The Milankovitch cycle is relatively stable during geological history and its record in the formation can be used as an accurate “sediment clock” and as a secondary measuring tool. Using wavelet analysis to identify Mie cycles from well logs, the duration of formation deposition can be determined. Compared with the results of other methods, the results show that the method has certain accuracy and reliability, and it can also be applied to other clastic areas
