This article focuses on highly effective antitumor drugs that act directly on tumor cells, as well as other more subtle fields in cancer research. The biochemical basis for cell differentiation and its potential for chemotherapy have been reviewed. Early clinical experience with vitamin A esters and hexamethyldiethanolamine as anti-cell proliferative and differentiation inducing agents has also been reviewed. Biochemical theories of metastasis violations are being elucidated, and when the method is established, anti-metastatic agents are developed. Two proteins that are directly involved in the carcinogenesis have been isolated and identified. Angiogenin is isolated from the human adenocarcinoma HT-29 cell line. It contains 123 amino acids and causes hyperplasia at 10 ~ (-12) ~ 10 ~ (-5)
