Human Herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7) is a type of DNA virus newly discovered in the 1990s that mainly infects human lymphocytes. To further investigate the infection mechanism of HHV-7 in different populations, Shandong University and other units used PCR to detect HHV-7 infection in healthy and hematological cancer patients in Jinan. The results showed that the detection of HHV-7 DNA in peripheral blood lymphocytes was 32% and 42.5% in 50 healthy adults and 73 hematologic cancer patients, and 0 and 6.7% in the sampled serum, indicating a slightly higher infection rate of HHV-7 in leukemia. In a healthy population, and may participate in the pathological process in the acute stage of leukemia.
