由于西瓜株行距较大,露地西瓜播种定植期相对较晚,因而,前期土地利用率较低。普通露地栽培或地膜覆盖栽培,一般于4月上旬直播或中旬定植,在植株覆盖地面之前,行间空闲时间较长,未能充分利用光能和土地资源。而早熟马铃薯品种,如鲁引1号、双丰4号等,在山东可于3月上旬播种,生育期仅65天左右,与西瓜套作,共生期短,可大大提高光能和土地利用率,增加单位面积产值,是一种理想的间套作物。1997年我们进行了马铃薯套种西瓜小区试验。试验结果表明,马铃薯套种西瓜总产值高,每亩纯收入达1882.6元,比纯作马铃薯增收50.7%,比纯作西瓜增收76.3%。现将马铃薯套种西瓜技术简介如下: 一、品种选择马铃薯应选用脱毒早熟品种。目前适合
