市民们、朋友们:2000年的钟声已经敲响,我们跨入了一个新的千年。在这里,我代表宁波市人民政府,向全市人民,向驻甬部队和武警指战员,向在雨的国内外朋友,向海内外宁波籍人士,致以诚挚的祝福和亲切的问候!刚刚过去的1999年,是我们党和国家历史上具有特殊意义的一年。我们党胜利召开了十五届四中全会,我们的祖国迎来了五十华诞,澳门顺利回归,这是完成祖国统一大业的又一重要里程碑。这一年可谓是大事之年,喜庆之年。刚刚过去的1999年,也是我市集中精力谋大事、抓发展,两个文明建设取得新进展的一年。全市人民在党中央、国务院和省委、省政府的领导下,克服种种困难,取得了国民经济持续、健康、稳定发展和社会事业的全面进步。在这一年,我市实现了国内生产总值超千亿元,财政收入逾百亿元,港口集装箱吞吐量突破60万标箱大关,城乡居民生活质量和生活环境进一步改善。在这一年,我们还成功地举办了’99浙江投资贸易洽谈会、’99宁波国际服装节和第十
Citizens and friends: The bell of 2000 has been ringing and we have stepped into a new millennium. Here, on behalf of Ningbo Municipal People’s Government, I would like to extend my sincere greetings and cordial greetings to all the people in the city, commanders and soldiers and officers and men stationed in Ningbo and armed police, and friends at home and abroad who are in the rain, to the people of Ningbo at home and abroad. 1999 is a year of special significance in the history of our party and our country. In this year, the city achieved a GDP exceeding 100 billion yuan and a fiscal revenue of over 10 billion yuan.
