The provincial government and the Provincial Forestry Institute decided to edit and publish the “Famous Ancient Trees in Yunnan Province”. This is a great event. Old trees are “living artifacts”, is “living fossils.” Editing and publishing this book is good for disseminating knowledge, promoting conservation and developing tourism. It is a way of telling the present and the future generations to survive. We hope that all parties will strongly support this task so that the book will meet with readers as soon as possible. It is necessary to support the book, but also to protect and protect old trees. Since ancient trees have great ornamental value, enlightenment and research value, why do we not double our care? At present, some places in our province do have the responsibility of burning old trees and fooling old trees so that some “living Cultural relics ”, actually became the end of the pot salary. Through the publication of this article, we hope to arouse the concern of all parties concerned about the old and famous trees so that they will be saved from the ax and will leave a legacy for future generations.
