“野火烧不尽,春风吹又生。”在那灾难深重的岁月里,花花草草被无情的野火烧尽了,唯有一粒莲子,默默地沉睡在箱底而幸免于难。莲子是长寿的生命体,有着顽强的生命力,为了与恶劣环境抗争,把自己的躯体,严实地包裹在“铜墙铁壁”的莲壳里,日夜渴望光明,期待解放,一等就是14年!终于盼来了改革开放的春风,万物复苏了,也吹醒了这粒被人遗忘的莲子。1979年的早春,它得到了阳光雨露的滋润,钻出莲壳,走入世界。它发芽、生根、展叶、开花、结果。这不仅象征着新生命在茁壮成长,还意味着蕴藏的更加强大的生命活力,将以更新的面貌报效人类。这粒从‘小桃红’的莲子孕育出的新生命,诞生在科学的春天里,被取名‘东湖春晓’。它植株矮小,花高于叶达半尺,花瓣短宽,开美丽的玫瑰红色花朵。更可贵的是它开花多,播种当年便 “Wild fire is blowing, the spring breeze is born again. ” In that disastrous heavy years, the flowers and plants are burned by the merciless wildfire, only has a lotus seed, sleeps silently in the bottom of the box and escapes.
