一张旧办公桌、一把木椅、一个小书柜,挤在狭窄的三人办公室一隅。作为公司工会唯一全职的工会干部,从某种意义上说,这没有牌匾的一隅,既是工会主席王远文的办公所在,又是进入世界500强的英格索兰设在桂林的工具有限公司工会的全部。脚下的位置虽小,王远文的天空却很大。56岁的他长年累月骑着自行车奔走于政府、总工会、劳动局、法院……瘦小身影生动地诠释了中国企业工会一直致力追求的“促进企业发展、维护职工权益”的工作准则。在企业,尤其是非公企业,工会给公众的印象大多仍停留在“福利型”阶段,王远文既能为职工权益与资方对簿公堂,又能为企业发展与资方同舟共济,他用12年的时间赢得职工的拥护和资方的尊重。在公司310名职工眼里,王远文是他们的“主心骨”;在外方总经理眼中,那个处理突发事务秉持公心,面对困难凝聚人心的东方汉子,是“好样的”。今年春天,王远文荣获了广西五一劳动奖章,这使他在近一个月里见到了大半生都没有机会见到的许多大领导,8月底还北上京城,在中国职工之家,面对来自全国各级工会组织的工会干部侃侃而谈自身的维权工作经历。王远文听说他还将被安排到北京人民大会堂演讲。9月,回到桂林的王远文每天都能接到许多昔日朋友、同行、职工的来电,许多人在电话里祝贺他成名了,为他感到高兴。但王远文对此很不以为然,他觉得自已历来把名利看得很淡,否则他也不可能舍弃8次调离的机会,至今仍清贫地坚守在基层工会主席的岗位上。现在他每天照常骑自行车外出开会、下车间找职工谈心。
