丁龙可能不曾被人记住,但哥伦比亚大学东亚系的存在,就是他的业绩被发扬光大的一座巍峨的、恒久的丰碑。品格高贵的中国仆人丁龙这个名字,没几个人知道;但在美国哥伦比亚大学,无人不知。哥伦比亚大学的东亚系,不仅是全美最早的汉学系,也是中国文化海外传播与研究的一块高地。胡适、冯友兰、徐志摩等在这里留下足迹;顾维钧、张学良、李宗仁、张国焘在这里留下了珍贵的第一手的口述实录……而这一切,都来自一个卑微的广东“猪仔”:丁龙。
Ding Long may not have been remembered, but the existence of Columbia University Columbia East Asia, is his performance is carried forward a towering, permanent monument. Not many people know the name Ding Ling, a noble Chinese servant, but no one knows at Columbia University in the United States. The East Asian Department of Columbia University is not only the earliest Sinology Department in the United States, but also a highland for the overseas dissemination and study of Chinese culture. Hu Shih, Feng Youlan and Xu Zhimo left their footprints here. Gu Weijun, Zhang Xueliang, Li Zongren and Zhang Guotang left a precious first-hand oral oral record here.
