On an average night, I do not know my daughter Rachel is watching closely with my every move. Rachel is a smart and curious girl, sophomore. I knew nothing had slipped through her eyes. Like all mothers, I was proud of my children’s extraordinary talents. Yet again, my adult behavior was perfunctory to her. On that special Tuesday afternoon, returning home from Rachel to have dinner with the whole family, she watched me prepare snacks for her and her brother, guide her homework, cook dinner, brush plates, sweep and mop up . Then, I am ready to start the daily routine of the laundry process. When her dad returned from get off work and walked into the house, she watched him leisurely reading the evening paper, crossing the crossword puzzle, sleeping on the couch with her arms and legs stretched out, watching TV, eating dinner, going to the backyard
