自1960年maiman 氏首创红宝石激光器问世以后,最先应用激光在医疗方面便是从眼科开始的。当时是使用红宝石激光器封闭黄斑部裂孔,后来则发展应用于虹膜打孔治疗青光眼等症。此外尚有氩激光、氦氖激光用以治疗各种眼外及眼底病,相继又应用染料激光治眼底病等。这些方面过去有关报导很多,许多单位做了不少工作,现在着重介绍八十年代以来在眼科激光应用新进展情况。1980年末在武汉第三医院与华中工学院协作首先采用YAG 光纤手术器,主要施行
