1989年10月,里氏7.2级的黑山(Loma Prieta)地震严重损坏了美国旧金山海湾大桥东段结构,部分上不结构坍塌,造成一人死亡,大桥被迫关闭一个月之久,经过修复后继续维持交通至今。旧金山-奥克兰新海湾大桥位于美国旧金山湾,是世界上第一大单塔自锚悬索钢桥,整个钢塔全部为栓焊结构,塔身由4根五边形钢柱和连接横梁组成,最大板厚达到100mm。其制作难点在于节段重量重、断面大、结构形式复杂、几何精度要求高,对塔的垂直度要求非常高。本文在介绍旧金山新海湾大桥的基础上,着重的解释了钢塔设计的制作方案及钢塔装配过程中的影响因素。
