On April 3, 1927, a counter-revolutionary coup took place in Fuzhou, amidst white horror. The massacre of the caucus and the corps was severely damaged. Numerous revolutionary bloodshed in Rongcheng and the party secretary of Fuzhou’s party committee, Erhao Hao, was arrested and sacrificed. Many outstanding members and progressive youths were jailed and viciously poisoned. There were 150 former members of the Fuzhou party committee and 20 remaining after the coup. (1) Many revolutionary youth organizations such as Fujian Youth Federation, Fujian Students Federation, Fuzhou Bookstore, Labor Boy Group, Workers’ Primary School, Sci-Tech Society and Fujian Reviewing Organization were sealed up and banned.
