有些人,常常能把别人所不敢担负的大工作放在身上,态度若是诚实,勇气实可佩服。以我看,钱杏邨先生就是这样一个人。看他评了这个又评那个,仿佛我们所要的批评是已得到了。因他一批评,有些人就相信中国革命文学家是那四个了。钱先生有他的观点立场,(这里我并不说友谊的立场,)他当然可以认甚么文章与他的革命文学或文学革命目标相同。他的态度若诚实,他的话至少在他一方面是对了。我对于他的工作努力是表示十分敬意的。中国要批评者,一个好批评者至少是能帮助我们认清一个文学潮流已成型态的姿式,以及个人作品的内容。
Some people can often put big work that other people can not afford, and if the attitude is honest, the courage can be admired. In my opinion, Mr. Qian Xingcun is such a person. See him comment on this again comment on that, as if the criticism we want has been obtained. Because of his criticism, some people believe that there are four Chinese revolutionary writers. Mr Qian has his point of view. (Here, I do not say the position of friendship.) Of course, he can identify what articles are the same as his revolutionary literary or literary revolutionary goals. If his attitude is honest, his words are correct at least on the one hand. I am very respectful of his hard work. Critics of China, a good critic at least, can help us recognize the formation of a literary trend, as well as the content of individual works.
