一九九七年是我党我国历史上极不平凡的一年,也是机电兵船档案史上值得庆贺的一年。伴随着祖国的香港回归和党的十五大的胜利召开,辗转了三十五载寒暑的“机械部档案馆和历经十三个春秋的《机电兵船档案》期刊编辑部双双落户首都北京的机械部机械科学研究院。在这辞旧迎新之际,我代表机械科学研究院和位于新址的机械部档案馆及《机电兵船档案》期刊编辑部向机电兵船四个行业的档案工作者、原档案馆及编辑部的全体成员,以及对档案馆和期刊工作给以悉心指导的各级领导、热心工作的通联员、报以挚爱的广大作者及读者致以新春的问候及诚挚的谢意。
